J_HatchCreate

Create and edit some hatches associated to the parts' boundaries

Hatches can be used to mark some parts and to see more clearly how they overlap.

Find it in: JPattern Parts toolbar

Steps

  1. Issue the command and select one or more parts from the part list (multiple select with Ctrl + Click)
  2. Choose the properties of the hatch to assign to the selected parts:
    • Color source: choose if the hatch color is inherited from layer, from parent object, from material or if it is a custom object color
    • Color: choose the desired color (ignored if Color Source is set to layer, parent or material)
    • Opacity: choose opacity, so that overlapping hatches allow underlying object to be visible
    • Pattern: choose the repeating pattern to apply to the hatch
    • Scale: apply a scale to the pattern geometry, to make it bigger or smaller (ignored if Pattern is set to Solid)
    • Rotation apply a rotation to the pattern geometry (ignored if Pattern is set to Solid)
    • Holes: you can choose to use internal boundaries, stabs or markers as holes in the generated hatch
  3. Confirm by clicking OK or discard changes by clicking Cancel

The same workflow can be used to edit existing hatches: when issuing the command, the parts with an associated hatch are flagged. To edit a part's hatch the user can:

  • Uncheck the part to remove completely the hatch from it
  • Select the part and edit the hatch properties to change its color, pattern, etc.

Create and Edit operations can be performed at the same time.
