J_AnchorBaseLine¶
Anchor a base line for grading
Use this command to control the scaling of base lines when grading the model.
Find it in: JPattern Grade toolbar
Steps¶
- Select which base lines you want to anchor
- Select the grade center to anchor to
- Use the buttons to add anchor points with attenuated scaling factors
- Use the check boxes to apply the scaling attenuation to the two axes
Keyboard shortcuts¶
- E: Add anchor point
- R: Select existing anchor point
- T: Remove existing anchor point
- W: Change linked grade center
Remarks¶
The attenuation percentage is applied to the base scale factor computed using length and width of the target size. 100% means use full scale, 0% means do not scale.
J_AnchorTwoCenter¶
This command allows you to apply a two centers grading rule to a base curve
Find it in: JPattern Grade toolbar
Steps¶
- Select the curve you want to apply the rule to or edit the existing rule
- Select the first grade center and a point on the curve to anchor to
- Select the second grade center and another point on the curve to anchor to
- Use the window to edit scale factor, the chosen centers or anchor points
- Click Ok to confirm
Remarks¶
If the selected line already has a different grading rule assigned to it, a warning message will appear to let you choose if you want to overwrite the existing rule.
J_MultipleCentersAnchor¶
Anchor a base curve to multiple centers
Allows you to grade a curve following multiple grade centers.
Find it in: JPattern Grade toolbar
Steps¶
- Select the curve to anchor
- Select the grade center to use and the point on the curve where to anchor. Repeat until necessary.
- Enter or right-click to confirm, and a dialog will pop-up
- Edit the form and confirm to assign the rule to the line.
Options¶
- Use the drop-down menu to select the anchor point to edit
- Add (shortcut: E): Insert a new anchor point on the curve

Remove (shortcut: R): Delete an existing anchor point

Amount: Set the increment percentage to be used by the selected anchor point
- Move (shortcut: T): Move the selected anchor point along the curve
- Change center (shortcut: W): Change the grading center used by the selected anchor point
- Anchor X/Y: Set the selected anchor point to grade the curve on length/width only, or both
Remarks¶
The beginning and the end part of the curve will be graded respectively like the first and the last center that you will assign.
J_GradeRuleEdit¶
Use this command to edit the grade rule assigned to a given command
Find it in: JPattern Grade toolbar
Steps¶
- Select the target base curve
- If the assigned grade rule has a property dialog, this will show up
Remarks¶
If the target curve has a locking rule (see J_GradeLikeMargin
and J_LockBaseLine
) or it hasn't any specific rule assigned to it, the command will do nothing
