Activate parts with the select objects

Multiple parts can be activated if multiple objects are selected

Find it in: JPattern Parts toolbar

Steps¶

1. Trigger the command
2. Select the objects you want to use to activate the containing parts
3. Press Enter or right-click to confirm

or

1. Select the objects contained in the parts you want to activate
2. Click the relative icon in the toolbar
3. The parts containing the select objects are activated

J_RenameAllParts¶

Rename quickly a number of parts

Steps¶

1. Select part name in new part name column
2. Write new name to assign to a part
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for other parts to rename

J_PartPreview¶

Preview of one part

With this command you can view a preview of the external boundary of one or more parts. You can move and rotate the preview to check the correspondence with other parts, and also keep the preview even after closing the window.

Steps¶

1. Select the parts you want to preview
2. Use the buttons in the dialog to move the parts preview
3. Click OK to exit from Part preview

Options¶

• Rotate the part (shortcut R): rotate the preview of the selected part. Press Esc or right-click to return to the main dialog
• Traslate the part (shortcut T): translate the preview of the selected part. Press Esc or right-click to return to the main dialog
• Reset Transformation: Restore the part preview to the starting position
• Pin current part: It holds the preview visible even after the dialog is closed

J_WriteReport¶

Generate a report of the current model

In order to have a better communication with factory and other people involved in the development of the product, it is possible to create some report describing the created model in various file formats.

Find it in: JPattern Parts toolbar

Steps¶

1. Click on the report button
2. Select the output file. Different file formats will generate different reports
3. If you choose the PDF report, set the options available in the dialog
4. The report is generated

Reports available¶

• RTF: a list of the model properties and a compact description of each of its parts
• PDF: a table with the model properties and a reproduction of each part lines.
• XLS: a stub report for production costs calculation

Remarks¶

It may take some time to generate the report file, as all the parts' assessment needs to be done before exporting.
