J_ChainPushAllNotches

Add all the notches to a chain or boundary

When a boundary or a chain is created, the command adds all the notches on the line that generates the chain or the boundary

Find it in: Boundary cascade toolbar

Steps

  1. Select the boundary to add the notches to
  2. All the notches are added to the chain or boundary

J_BoundaryUnfold

Unfolds a boundary on a line

When working with lateral and medial it is often useful to unfold a boundary for a part on a line.

Find it in: Boundary cascade toolbar

Steps

  1. Select the boundary to unfold
  2. Select the line to unfold on
  3. The boundary is unfold

Remarks

  • A number of mirror lines will be created for the boundary.

J_ReplaceChainCurve

Change one line with other one in chains

Find it in: Boundary cascade toolbar

Steps

  1. Select one or more chains
  2. Select the curve you want to remove from a chain or boundary
  3. Select the curve you want to add to a chain or boundary

Replace chain curve

Remarks

This command transfers notches and size codes from the curve being removed to the curve being added

J_ReplaceMultipleCurves

Replace one or more lines on which a chain lies with other ones

This command is similar to J_ReplaceChainCurve, but it allows to select multiple curves to replace in one run.

Find it in: Boundary cascade toolbar

Steps

  1. Select one or more chains
  2. Select the curve you want to replace from a chain or boundary
  3. Select the curve that will replace the previous one (the pair of old/new curves will be highlighted in the same color)
    • Keep selecting curves in pairs by repeating steps 2 and 3
  4. Right-click OR press Enter to confirm

Remarks

As J_ReplaceChainCurve, this command transfers notches and size codes from the curves being removed to the curves being added

J_ChainChangeMirrorAxis

Change mirror axis for chain or boundary

When working with lateral and medial it is useful to have a quick way to work on the folded pattern and then unfold it.

Find it in: Boundary cascade toolbar

Steps

  1. Select the boundary to change the mirror axis
  2. Select the line that corresponds to the mirror axis
  3. Select the line for the new mirror axis

Remarks

  • This command adds new mirror lines to the document.
  • New mirror lines are dashed.

J_SetStartCuttingPoint

Set the initial cutting point for a boundary

When programming production it is important to specify where the cutting machines will start cutting the pattern.

Find it in: Boundary cascade toolbar

Steps

  1. Select the part to set the cutting point
  2. For each boundary in the part you will be asked to specify the point

Remarks

The points will always be set on the corner between two different curves that generate the boundary. This will also affect the mirrored boundaries you may have or any marker/entity you created on top of the boundary itself.
