Reduce domain of a dependant entity

This command can be used to reduce the extension or trim a dependant curve (like a margin or a gimp line) which normally covers the extension of the whole parent curve. You can also use this command to trim a base curve.

Find it in: JPattern Design toolbar

Steps

  1. Choose the curve that you want to reduce
  2. Click the point where you want to set the new start
  3. Click the point where you want to set the new end
  4. Repeat point 2 and point 3 to create other partializations or right-click to confirm the command

The partialization can be reverted using the same command, except if used on a base curve (in that case use Undo)

J_UnpartializeNode

Reduce domain of a dependant entity by removal

Unlike J_PartializeNode - which keeps the selected portion of curve - this command does the opposite: the selected portion is removed, while the rest of the curve is maintained. Like J_PartializeNode, it can be used on base curves as well.

Find it in: JPattern Design toolbar (right-click Partialize Node button)

Steps

  1. Start the command and select the curve you want to partialize
  2. Pick the first point that will delimit the section to be removed
  3. Pick the second point that will delimit the section to be removed
  4. Repeat point 2 and 3 to select other sections to remove or right-click to confirm the command

J_BrushToPartialize

Partialize multiple curves, selecting some of their portions by "brushing" over them

Find it in: JPattern Design toolbar

Steps

  1. Start the command and brush over the curves you want to partialize: the coloured portions will be removed.
  2. When satisfied, press ENTER or right-click to confirm and partialize the curves.
