J_SmoothCornerCreate¶
J_SmoothCornerEdit¶
Add smoothing to lines intersection
This command will add an arc fillet (smooth) or a straight line (chamfer) on the intersection of two given curves, or between two portions of the same curve (like on the corner between two segments of a polyline or on a self-intersection)
Find it in: JPattern Design sidebar
Steps¶
- Select the two points on the curve(s) where you want the smoothing to approximately start/end or select the smoothing you want to edit
- Set the options in the dialog and click Ok (or press space) to confirm
Options¶
- Smooth type: use the radio buttons to choose between a radius (an arc) or a chamfer (a straight line)
- Distances: set the size of the radius or the distances of the chamfer ends from the chosen intersection
- Edit points (shortcut: W for curve A, E for curve B): Edit the points on the curves where the smoothing starts/ends
- Limits: If the smooth is limited it can not overlap other smoothes
- Grade proportionally: every smooth radius grades proportionally instead of remaining fixed
- Maximum radius (chain/boundary only): when applying smooths to a chain or boundary, the user can set the maximum radius value so that all smooths do not intersect.
J_SmoothAutoCreate¶
Automatically create smooths on all corners of a boundary or chain
Find it in: Smooth cascade toolbar
Steps:¶
- Start the command and select a boundary or chain.
- Smooths will be created on all corners.
