Export model to various formats

Use this command to export the parts contained in the model to other file formats compliant with cutting machines or other softwares

Find it in: JPattern Design toolbar

Steps

  1. Chose a file name and a file type
  2. Select a configuration among the ones available for the chosen file format
  3. Select the parts and the sizes to export and any desired available option, then click Ok

Options

  • Export size code: allows to export the size codes
  • Export printbox: allows to include printboxes in the exported file
  • Layout parts: if checked, each part and its sizes are arranged in the exported file so that they do not overlap
  • Layout sizes: if checked, each size is arranged in the exported file so that they do not overlap

If both Layout parts and Layout sizes are checked, parts and sizes are arranged in a "grid-like" manner, with one size per row and one part per column.

Remarks

  • You can create a new configuration for the selected export format by clicking on the Custom configuration button.
  • It may happen that some curve in your model are mistakenly moved from the construction plane, as Rhinoceros allows 3D curves. In that case a warning will be shown with a suggestion to fix this problem.

J_BatchExportData

Export the model to various formats in batches using different configurations

Use this command if you want to export parts/sizes in the model to file formats compliant with other softwares, genarating different files based on different configuration settings in a single run.

Find it in: JPattern Design toolbar

Steps

  1. Choose a file name and a file type
  2. Select a configuration among the ones available for the chosen file format
  3. Select the parts and the sizes to export and any desired available option
  4. Click Confirm to add a batch to the export list
  5. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 until you have added all the parts/sizes with the desired configuration you intend to export
  6. Click Ok to export each batch to a single file (one file per batch)

Remarks

You can create a new configuration for the selected export format by clicking on the Custom configuration button.

It is possible to remove a size, a part or an entire batch from the export list, in case it was mistakenly added.
