J_GradeAreaCreate

Create a set of grading rules for curves based on a selected area

This command allows to quickly associate a grading behaviour to multiple curves, by assigning garding centers inside a specified area. Inside the area, some grading "lanes" will be created when adding grading centers.

Find it in: JPattern Grade toolbar

Steps

  1. Start the command and select the base curves you want to assign a grading behaviour, then press ENTER or right-click.
  2. On the dialog that shows up, th user can:
    • choose between an horizontal or vertical orientation of the grading area
    • assign other curves to the grading area
    • add/remove a grading center from/to the area
  3. When adding a grading center, the user must pick a point on the model and optionally modify the weight of the center (by default set to 100%); all curve segments included in a lane between two centers will grade by applying a weight that is a gradient from the first center's to the second center's weight.
  4. Optionally, the user can decide if the position of grade centers is significant or not; check "Center weight" to consider grade center positions and make the grading work as if a multiple center anchor rule was applied. Otherwise, only the distance of curve points from the center lines will be considered.
